Submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step toward receiving federal loans and grants to help you pay for school.

Step Three: Verification and Extra Documentation (if necessary)
You may be notified that you have been selected for a process known as verification. This notification will usually appear on your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR), which is a summary of the information you provided on the FAFSA and is typically emailed to you once your FAFSA is processed. We (the Office of Financial Aid at Regis University) will email you directly letting you know that you’ve been selected for verification.

Verification is the process through which schools verify that the information you reported on your FAFSA is accurate. The U.S. 教育部 usually selects one-third of all FAFSA applicants for verification either randomly or because there was a discrepancy in the information you provided. Once selected, we are required by law to complete the process before we can determine your need-based financial aid eligibility. 一旦验证完成, our office will move forward to determine your maximum financial aid award.
To complete the verification process, you’ll need to submit:

- Your (and your spouse/parent(s), if applicable) tax return information from the IRS. You can use either of the following methods to provide the documentation:

Once you submit these items to the Office of Financial Aid (via email or mail) the verification committee may ask for additional items or email you for clarification. We are authorized to ask for any documentation necessary to complete the verification process. If you have been admitted to Regis University and have a lastheroofthewesternworld.com email, please make sure to check your email often and respond promptly.

Step Four: Accept Your Aid and Check the Aid Disbursement Calendar

You can pay any balance due or set up a payment plan through the Ranger Portal, too! Regis University is dedicated to providing financial support to undocumented students within the limits of state and federal law. However, Regis University provides institutional funds to undocumented students by awarding academic and other talent-based scholarships. If you are classified as a dependent student for financial aid (see the FAFSA), the federal government expects that parents will assist with educational expenses to the extent that they are capable and your parents’ information must be included on the FAFSA. The IRS Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) allows students (and parents, if applicable) to authorize the FAFSA to pull their financial data directly from the IRS to save time and improve accuracy when completing the FAFSA. Using the Data Retrieval Tool often reduces the odds that your FAFSA will be selected for verification. The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is a measure of your family’s financial strength and is calculated according to the formula established by the U.S. 教育部. The information you provide on the FAFSA is taken into consideration in the formula.
The EFC is used to determine financial need for students and different types of aid they may be eligible for. Keep in mind, the EFC is not the amount of money you will pay to go to college and it doesn’t represent the amount of aid you will receive.
